We strive to create a welcoming atmosphere and an enjoyable experience for all our visitors. We also care deeply for the heritage entrusted to us, which is why we ask you to observe the following house rules:
The exhibits are fragile; please do not touch them.
Umbrellas and bags and backpacks larger than A4 size are not permitted in the museum galleries. Lockers and an umbrella stand are available for your convenience.
Please follow the instructions of museum staff at all times. Staff can be identified by a Museum Gouda badge.
Wet coats may not be taken into the galleries. They can be hung in the cloakroom or stored in a locker.
Food and drinks are not permitted in the museum
Photography and filming for personal use are welcome, provided that no flash or tripod is used. (Any exceptions require prior written permission from the museum.)
Please feel free to discuss anything you see. However, be mindful of other visitors and keep loud or disruptive noises to a minimum.
If you wish to draw in the museum, only use a pencil and paper, or an iPad.
Certified assistance dogs are welcome; other dogs or pets are not permitted in the museum.
Mobility aids, including wheelchairs and walking frames, are of course allowed and can also be borrowed on request.
Children under the age of 12 are welcome when accompanied by an adult, with a maximum of four children per adult.
For group visits, the supervisor or organiser is responsible for the behaviour of the group.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the museum, including the use of e-cigarettes or vaping devices.
For the safety and security of our visitors, staff, and collection, the museum is monitored by CCTV.
By visiting the museum or attending an event held at the museum, you agree to comply with these house rules. All visits are also subject to our Visitor Terms and Conditions, which can be found on our website.
